1. Receiving compassion

Allowing others to care for us.  This is really difficult for those of us who feel “unworthy” of love or support for whatever reasons.

  1. Self-compassion

A lot of us still think of self-care as selfish, or as something that’s light and fluffy and doesn’t apply to the seriousness of mental illnesses.

  1. Extending compassion

Having the ability to be compassionate to others- people we know personally and people we don’t- being able to stand up for our own beliefs and also the rights of others.
